The front desk opens the day with arrivals and departures laid out in hourly lanes, and sees each stay with its room, its guest and what still needs solving before the guest reaches the counter.
Blocking a room for maintenance, recording the check-in and closing the check-out all happen on the same screen, on the same inventory as the booking engine. Nothing is typed twice.
